Something not working, or a question about how the app behaves? Write to
webhym@gmail.com. Please say which device and which system
version you are on, and which of the five activities the problem is in – it makes the answer
much faster.
What is in the app
One home screen leads to five activities for young children: Drawing Workshop
(freehand drawing, colouring pages, colour by number, tracing and magic brushes),
Sound Master (a musical memory game), Reading Books (a catalogue
of children's e-books), Kids Radio (children's radio stations from around the
world) and Videos (hand-picked children's channels).
Common questions
- How do I open the settings?
- Tap the lock icon at the top right of the home screen and answer the multiplication question.
That grown-up check guards the settings, any activity you have locked, and every link that leaves
the app. Three wrong answers close it.
- How do I stop my child leaving the app?
- Use your device's own way of pinning one app to the screen. On an iPhone or iPad it is
Settings › Accessibility › Guided Access – turn it on, then
triple-click the side button while Kids World is open. On other devices look for screen pinning or
a kids mode in the system settings.
- How do I lock one of the activities?
- In the settings, behind the grown-up check, each of the five activities has a switch. A locked
activity asks for the multiplication question before it opens.
- Can I limit how much video my child watches?
- Yes. Inside Videos, the parents area has a daily time limit, a bedtime lock, a switch for every
channel, and the watch history of the last 30 days. The parents area is behind its own, harder
grown-up check.
- How do I change the language?
- In the settings, behind the grown-up check. It changes the language of Drawing Workshop, Sound
Master, the book shop and the radio filter: English, Hebrew, Arabic, Spanish, French or Russian.
Hebrew and Arabic also switch Drawing Workshop to right-to-left. The home screen itself is always
in English.
- A radio station says “This station isn't answering”.
- The stations are public streams run by other people, and one can go offline or change address
without warning. Try another station; if a particular one is broken for a long time, tell us and we
will replace it.
- The radio stops when I lock the screen.
- It should keep playing, with the station name and the controls on the lock screen. It does stop
on purpose as soon as you leave the radio screen. If it stops while you are still in the radio,
write to us with the station name.
- Videos shows an empty list.
- The channel list is downloaded when the app opens. Check the internet connection and reopen the
app. If it stays empty, write to us.
- Where are my child's drawings?
- In the gallery inside Drawing Workshop. They are kept on the device only. To have them appear
in the device's Photos app as well, turn on “save pictures to the photo library” in
Drawing Workshop's grown-ups settings. If your device requires permission for that, the system asks
for it once, at that moment.
- Printing a colouring page.
- Drawing Workshop can print over AirPrint, behind its own grown-up check: press and hold the
button of the colour named in writing for three seconds.
- Are there ads or in-app purchases?
- No. Kids World is bought once and nothing inside it costs money. There is no advertising, no
analytics and no tracking, and it collects no personal data. See the
privacy policy.
- How do I delete everything the app saved?
- Delete the app. Everything it remembers is stored on the device, so removing the app removes
all of it.
